I was born and bred in the Bronx. I played in the alleys and sidewalks of New York. My view of nature was through visits to  the Bronx zoo. My trendy and fashion forward mother and her new husband then moved our family across the map to a dusty desert town in California, where I lived until I could fight my way out after graduating from high school. Re-met my husband after we both divorced, having first met in 7th grade.

As a sudden turn of events, we kinda decided to move – to an island in the middle of the Fijian archipelago. Where we happily resided for 14 years until I could stand it no longer, and we moved back, settling in the state of Washington. And where this decidedly city girl is, kicking and screaming and spitting and clawing, becoming a reluctant farm girl.

  1. So I was looking for someone who sold real goats milk soap for our next metaphysical craft fair and you were recommended. All they had was your “business name” so I did some searching and found your blog. Will look for Etsy page later. You have made my day!! I have finally found someone with a sense of humor I can appreciate!! I read your entire blog top to bottom and found myself laughing at your rooster and poop adventures. Thank you for sharing your wonderful (and maybe not so wonderful life when it comes to toilets and roosters) with us. You are a true joy. Open, honest, funny as all get out! I am a true fan! Thank you!!

    • That is just too nice. You have no idea how much you made my day! I looked at your blog and am humbled. You are a special spirit and I’m so happy you understood my humor – not everyone does! by the way, there are two “reluctant farmgirls” on Etsy. I’m “The” reluctant farmgirl (thereluctantfarmgirl) – the other reluctant farmgirl I think makes Amish quilts, so not me!

Thank you for your comments, and you, too, have a fan!
